Introducing Our New Teachers!

We have such an exciting year ahead of us!  We will be moving into our new dance home in the fall.   With more space and more classes being offered, we are pleased to introduce you to four new teachers who will be joining our other amazing teachers to bring you the best in dance instruction.  Their years of expertise and experience in their genres will be a great asset to our students.  They all are eager to bring their passion for dance and teaching to Center Stage.

Sydney

Sydney has been dancing and cheering for 17 years. She started dancing at 3 years old and has been dancing ever since! She participated in cheerleading and tumbling classes at Capital Gymnastics. She then began competitive cheer throughout middle school and high school. At Hendrickson High School, she served as cheer captain. After graduating high school, Sydney taught ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and cheer at many studios throughout the state of Texas. She coached competitive cheer and hip-hop teams to national titles. Sydney also danced professionally for the Austin Vipers for two seasons. Sydney has a huge love for kids and dancing, and an even bigger love for sharing her passion of dance and cheer with her students! She says she enjoys teaching dance and cheer and will continue to teach others as long as God allows!

Kimberly

Kimberly began her dance training in Colorado at the young age of 3 and has been dancing ever since. Throughout high school, she spent over 25 hours per week training at multiple studios in the Denver area. She began teaching at the age of 14 at Dance Movement.  She went to Friends University as a Ballet Major. She finished at Metropolitan State College of Denver and received a BS in Adult Fitness Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Injuries and a Minor in Dance and Youth Psychology. She began dancing professionally in high school and continued dancing professionally while going to college. Over the years, she has taught several award-winning competition teams as well as solos and duets leading them to overall awards, judge’s choice awards, and national titles. Kimberly has also produced 3 of her own ballets. From2011-2014, she choreographed for two high school Show Choirs in Oceanside and Vista CA. Kimberly recently moved to Austin TX with her husband and baby girl, Kylie. She is excited to be teaching at Center Stage and looks forward to helping her students reach their potential and express their passion for dance.

Lyndsey

Lyndsey began dancing at a young age; however, she became serious about dance at the age of 12 when she began studying at El Paso’s The Ballet Centre with David Duran, formerly of Ballet El Paso. She studied there for 7 years, six years on pointe. In high school, Lyndsey was a member of the Franklin High School Dance Company studying modern and jazz. She took summer dance intensives at San Diego City Ballet studying with Susan Jaffe, David Howard, and Gelsey Kirkland. She currently is in the dance department at ACC. Lyndsey recently performed in Georgetown Palace Theater’s production of Cats. Some of her past performance experiences include corps de ballet parts in Paquita, Bug Ballet, and West Side Story. Some of her solo variations include Sleeping Beauty, Firebird, and Nutcracker. Lyndsey loves exploring movement and can’t wait to share her love for dance with her students at Center Stage.

Diedra

From the streets of Corpus Christi, with Austin as her second home, Diedra developed a liking and skill for dance. She first performed in the Jr. Buc Days Parade and then later in the crowd-pleasing Buc Day Parade in Corpus Christi. After moving toAustin, Diedra joined Vitality Exhale Dance Company. The company performed around Austin and took their performance to Corpus Christi’s Bailando Fest. Vitality Exhale also took several workshops at TAMUCC in all styles of dance.Diedra has trained with Redefined Dance Company at the University of Texas, Movement Lifestyle Tour, Soreal Workshop featuring GX & Homegrown, Soundbox Studios, Choro Cookies, Wildabeast Adams, Brian Pupos, Pat Cruz, Ian Eastwood, Tucker Barkley, Laura Edwards, Ellen Kim, and Shaun Evaristo. Diedra has also choreographed and performed in House of Torment and taught at studios in the Austin area. Recently, she began directing a new female dance crew based out of Austin. Her dance crew, Convivial FD Crew, will be competing at Hip-Hop competitions throughout the state of Texas. Diedra also loves children and currently teaches at a preschool. She is excited to share her dance passion with her students at Center Stage!
