We loaded up our swimsuits and dance shoes a few weekends back leaving Leander and heading to Great Wolf Lodge for the Showstoppers dance convention! I’m not sure if the girls had more fun riding the water slides at Great Wolf Lodge or dancing in all of the amazing classes at the convention.
Our Center Stage dancers represented the studio well. On the first night, two of our dancers, Sarah W and Kailey M, were called up on stage during Fik-Shun’s Hip Hop class to show the dance. Fik-Shun was one of the winners of So You Think You Can Dance, so the girls were all really excited to get to take class from him.
Our dancers got to also take classes from current choreographers, former Broadway stars, a former Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, a former Rockette, and a belly dancer. The girls enjoyed taking a variety of classes and trying out new styles that they don’t have the opportunity to take in Leander. Conventions are a great way to try various dance genres and styles.
They now get to take what they learned at convention and apply it to their dance classes they are currently taking. From dance classes to playing at the water park, our dancers had a great time building friendships with one another and dancing their hearts out!
