At Center Stage in Leander, we have classes for ages 2.5 years through adult. Our 2.5-3 year olds and 4-5 years olds take a ballet/tap combination class enriched with creative movement activities. We have developed a creative curriculum designed specifically for our youngest dancers. We want our little dancers to come to class each week full of excitement and anticipation, and we hope to create in them a love of dance and movement.
We use a variety of props to engage our little ballerinas. If you were to peek in through the observation windows in the dance studio, you might find the young dancers expressing themselves using ribbon wands or brightly covered scarves in creative free dance time, or you might see them sitting in a circle working on rhythm exercises with the teacher using a variety of instruments. They might be galloping with a stick horse which happens to be the same footwork as a chasse or practicing their balance by walking across a balance beam. All of these fun and engaging activities are mixed in throughout the class to balance creative time with learning ballet combinations in the center or working on beginning tap skills.
All of our dancers love participating in the year-end dance recital showcase. For our younger classes, it is often times their very first performance. The excitement is palpable. Getting to dance with your friends, wearing a pretty recital costume, and hanging out backstage all adds to the wonderful memories created at the recital.

4-5 year olds – Tues. 11:05-12:00, Tues. 3:30-4:25, Wed. 10:50-11:45, Thurs. 9:30-10:25, Sat. 11:10-12:05
