Holiday performances, little dancers with jingle bell skirts, Secret Santa exchanges, all the excitement of the holidays – what’s not to love? December is my favorite month (possibly because it’s also my birthday month), but the main reason is because of all the festivities around the holidays. The season is made even better with all of the fun we have been having at the studio this month.
We started out the month with a community performance by our dance company groups at the Old Town Leander Christmas Festival. We performed right in front of the giant Christmas tree. The dancers performed beautifully and then enjoyed the festival afterwards.
Our next Christmas event was performing at Poet’s Walk Memory Care Center in Cedar Park. Our girls had a wonderful time performing for and visiting the residents there.
Next up in exciting things that happen in December at the studio was our pre-pointe dancers earning their pointe shoes! This is a huge milestone for any dancer. We are so proud of their dedication to dance. They will be going for their pointe shoe fittings over the Christmas break.
Our classes have been showcasing their holiday dances for their parents this week. We have enjoyed watching our dancers learn and grow over this past semester and look forward to seeing their progress in the new year!
This past week in several of our company classes, the students have been exchanging Secret Santa gifts. I like how the students really put a lot of thought into what their Secret Santa person might like. It’s a fun time to celebrate together.
