Are you interested in having your child audition for a competitive dance team? If your child has been taking dance classes and is wanting a greater challenge, he or she may be ready for a competitive team.
At Center Stage in Leander, we offer competitive dance teams that only require 2-4 hours of dance classes per week depending on age and company team. Most dance studio teams in the Leander/Cedar Park area require far more hours per week of classes and rehearsals. At Center Stage, we only require 2-4 hours so that our dancers can participate in other activities outside of the studio such as school dance teams, sports, gymnastics, girl scouts, etc. Most of our dancers can meet their company requirements in only one or two days per week at the studio leaving other days open for sports, family time, homework, or possibly more dance classes if they choose.
Our company teams start in August with a Company Camp where they do team building activities, technique, and choreography. Our fall classes begin in September. The Center Stage company dance teams may do a couple of public performances in Leander during the year. We go to 2-3 dance competitions in the spring time in the area. This year we went to Lago Vista, Pflugerville, and San Marcos, so you do not have to spend a great deal of money on traveling.
We offer Jazz/Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Pom dance companies at Center Stage in Leander. Company members can only have 3 unexcused absences which means company members are in class every week ready to learn. We don’t have to spend time reteaching choreography; therefore, students learn at a faster rate in company classes. Company offers a great opportunity for your child to excel in dance! Our Company Placements for the 2017-2018 season are on May 19th. There is a $10 audition fee, and your child can audition for as many companies as he/she would like. A week after placements, we will let you know if your child is ready for company. If he or she is not ready yet, we will recommend which classes would be best suited for him or her.
